The 10th edition of the annual Pride Business Forum, focused on equal opportunities for LGBT employees at workplaces, will be delayed until the second half of autumn. The decision was taken by representatives of the member companies with chairmen Czeslaw Walek and Christian Noll during a Steering Committee held online on April 8, 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemics, many events are being postponed, and Pride Business Forum conference is no exception. In this case too, we have considered holding the event online. We agreed, however, that it is not an ideal solution.
This year too, we are planning to invite many foreign guests. For them to be able to fully express their thoughts about equal opportunities for LGBT employees at workplaces, a personal meeting cannot be replaced by online transmissions.
Another reason why we have chosen the offline option is that lately we have had negative feedback to video conferences from employees who believe such events are becoming simply too much. It is understandable that some of them find it hard to concentrate fully in 'home office'. We don’t want to add to that burden. It could have a negative influence on the general experience of the conference, and on the interest in the topic of LGBT equality in workplaces, which is a key aspect to us and to the quality of LGBT employees’ lives.
The new date for the event could be decided within a few weeks, depending of the evolution of the situation. What we know already is that the program of this year’s conference will be brilliant and we are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Hilton Old Town, where we will discuss the topic of LGBT equality at the workplace in all its complexity.
Feel free to continue to nominate individuals and companies which are active in the LGBT equality field - for the prizes LGBT Friendly Employer and Pride Business Forum Heroes. The deadline for the nominations has been moved forward to 4 September 2020.
