Diversity and how to get it started

Respectful work environments are made up of little things, that we often don’t even know about.

Answer a few questions to get started:

Do your colleagues really respect everyone?

Are your corporate benefits really fair?

Do your internal processes take everyone into consideration?

1. Company benefits

Czech law still distinguishes between partners and spouses. But that doesn’t mean it has to be the same for you. Join the companies that have decided to address this inequality.

Offer your employees:

  • Time off work when accompanying your partner or child to the doctor
  • Time off at the birth of a child – either paternity or maternity leave
  • Time off to care for a family member

2. Internal processes

Not everything is about relationships. Your employees may include people of different gender identities, for example, trans and non-binary people. Create a respectful work environment for them, too.

Offer your employees:

  • An LGBTQ+ employee group to support LGBTQ+ issues within the company
  • A transition acceptance plan outlining steps for trans employees, managers, HR, and IT
  • Separate areas and facilities such as restrooms, showers, and changing rooms where everyone feels safe

3. Respectful colleagues

An open company culture is not built overnight. And sometimes we don’t see some biases until they appear. So talk to your people about important issues and train them regularly.

Invite your employees to:

  • Training on identity, coming out, and microaggressions, which will help your people work better
  • Events that will provide them with new information and introduce LGBTQ+ issues in a broader context

We will help you
