Since mid-September, Christian Schwenke has taken on the newly created position of the Chairman of the Pride Business Forum (PBF). His primary role will be to present the goals and values of this platform to corporate partners. By doing so we hope to strengthen the leadership of the platform formed by Czeslaw Walek (Prague Pride) and Pavlína Kalousová (Business for Society). The Pride Business Forum, as the only platform of its kind in the Czech Republic, creates space for an intergovernmental discussion on LGBT equality in the workplace and allows companies to exchange experiences and examples of good practice in the field.
Christian Schwenke works as General Manager of Hilton Prague Old Town. In 2011 he was at the birth of the Pride Business Forum and from the beginning was a member of its organizing committee. He has been with Hilton Worldwide for 17 years and at a number of places in his native Germany, Antwerp, Budapest, and since 2011 in Prague. During this time Christian has built an extensive network of contacts both in the corporate world and in organizations such as Out & Equal or Human Rights Watch.
"As the Chairman of the PBF Organizing Committee, I want to help strengthen the cooperation of Czech and international companies in sharing experiences with supporting LGBT diversity in companies and I want to encourage the emergence of new ideas in this area. My goal is to raise awareness of the benefits of diversity for corporate success and development. I am convinced that people work really efficiently in such teams where they feel respectable and valued, "says Christian Schwenke. "PBF wants to continue to create business opportunities to use the LGBT market and link domestic and international businesses. As one of the first things, our colleagues will focus on increasing the number of PBF members and raising awareness of our initiatives and areas that we are focusing on, "he adds.
